Good morning Buttercups. I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend.
It’s honestly hard to put into words how thankful I am for the people who gave their lives for our freedom.
Meanwhile, I spent Saturday acting like a spoiled little American, going on a full-blown coffee shop tour across Phoenix. Just bopping from one espresso to the next. The fact that I can do that completely free is only possible because of the courage and sacrifice of those who came before me.
Another Memorial Day highlight: eating fresh trout caught by none other than Kevin, my friend who remains entirely unconvicted about his ongoing relationship with energy drinks.
I see my friendship with Kevin as a mission. A calling, really. Delivering someone from the clutches of the energy drink lifestyle isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s difficult. It’s draining.
But as I savored that wild-caught trout, I was reminded of a great but hard truth: God gives His hardest battles to His toughest warriors.
And mine come in the form of synthetic caffeine and stubborn friendship.
Now, I want to share a quick, simple word of encouragement with you: please eat meat.
There are still many people—smart people!—resistant to the idea that meat is not only not harmful, but actually healthy.
After decades of celebrities glamorizing veganism and the government literally equating it to smoking, I shame nobody for being meat-resistant.
Heck, I was too. It’s not that I thought meat was bad, I just assumed veggies were healthier and more essential. And yes, veggies are great. So healthy, so delicious. But should they really outrank meat?
Take lunch, for example. If you’re aiming for a “healthy” option, would you choose a bowl of greens with some seeds and nuts or a juicy steak? Most people still default to the salad. And while that’s not bad, it’s also not as satisfying—or as deeply nourishing—as a piece of meat.
This week, let’s keep moving the pro-red meat narrative forward. Enjoy meat—for both its flavor and its nutrients. And instead of choosing between a salad or a steak, go with the best of both worlds: a steak salad.
I’ve been forever converted and changed and never going back. I had caved into the lies of veganism caught into its deep dark trap. Until someone one day had a hard and deep conversation with me and set the record straight. I tried to push back but deep down I knew there was something more. I began my own journey of learning the truths and unlearning the lies. And I have never been the same. Praise God I have seen the LIGHT! Meat is GOOD. Cheering you on as you take on the God-ordained mission of delivering your friend from the throes of the energy drink lifestyle. The buttercups are a united front!
Hahaha…in all seriousness (though I was being serious). Appreciate your content :)
