Golden Delicious is, arguably, the very best. My favorite way to eat them: grate one down like a sharp cheddar, fold it into homemade pancake batter with some smoooooshed bananas, and fry that puppy up. Top it with sour cream and brown sugar. BAM!!! A fine way of keeping your doctor on speed dial. Don't worry, I've since sought help. My doc calls it "diabetes."
I grew up in a orchard farming community in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia Canada and the most common apples that we had were Red Delicious, Golden Delicious and Macintosh (which I see did not make the list). I feel like red delicious is not getting its due. One of the most popular apples we had and they were in fact delicious and with an amazing apple crunch right off the tree. Today's apples are just not the same. Picked before they peak, store in storage, and transported across the land. A side note, macintosh apples were the best for making pies.
Cosmic Crisp is my favorite! Especially when I cut them and add lemon juice to keep them from browning! They already taste great but lemon makes them even better!
Hello kitty is 5 apples tall and 3 apples heavy

And as I like to say, "if an apple a day doesn't keep the doctor away, try garlic."
