Took my kids ages 6, 4, and 2 on a 6000 mile road trip this summer. No tablets. Look out the window or listen to audiobooks together. Character building
Another great article. Thanks, Vance! You are spot on about these things! I was recently cuddling my toddler and baby and realized I had nothing to do but admire their cuteness. I do not own a smart phone, and I'm glad - I'm sure I'd have been scrolling in that moment and missed it.
Genuine question about butter. Something tells me youโre the guy to ask.
My husband has been carnivore for the last year or so to heal his tendonitis that he got from playing guitar. It has helped tremendously but since his diet is very simplified at the moment we splurge and get the grass fed butter for him for when he cooks his meat.
We donโt use grass fed butter for the kids because of price and it pangs me still a little every time I slice some of that not as deep yellow butter for them. Would you still consider butter the better โhealthy fatโ to choose over say, avocado oil even if itโs not grass fed?
For reference we are a no seed oil, no eating out and no sugar for the kids (I still have honey in my coffee, havenโt quit that yet) family.
Ps. Found you from Now That Weโre a Family but genuinely enjoy your writing and topics this year. I consider you my news update and how I stay in the loop on things. The plot twist love story happening between the lines was also a fun read this year. I never watched the bachelor but now I feel like I can understand the draw of rooting for people. ๐
I took social media off my phone a few weeks ago (I still technically have some access on my work computer) and I feel like a new woman, mom and just overall better person! My challenge for this year is to move. I am overweight and sick of it, I know at some point I will count calories but right now my real goal is to move. This is a great post and all great things! My kids donโt have screens unless we are on long trips but last summer just because I wanted them to have the experience, we did no tablets for the 16 hour drive to see my parents. Guess what we all survived! Audio books and staring out the window for a win.
